No. Viking Launch students can choose to live in any of the housing options and apply for Affinity Based Housing. Visit the Housing Timeline on the University Residences website to make sure you meet the priority application deadlines.
If you would like to participate in Viking Launch, have also been accepted into the WWU Honors College, and want to live in the Honors Cluster in Edens, then please contact University Residences to determine if this is an option for you.
The total cost of Viking Launch is $1200, which includes $600 for the Viking Launch program fee, billed during the reservation process, and $600 for tuition, billed with Fall quarter tuition. This amount covers early move-in to the residence hall, dining, and recreation activities during the week of Viking Launch. The only other cost may be specific course fees for the Viking Launch course you select, which varies by course ($0-$90, depending on the activities or supplies for that course, please see the course descriptions for course fee information).
Yes, you can, as long as there is space available in the VL seminar you want to register for.
June 30 is the priority application deadline for Viking Launch; applications will be accepted on a space available basis after July 1 while the Housing Application is open. You can always request to switch your Viking Launch course after your summer Fall Advising & Registration, as long as there is still space available in that course.
Yes. Viking Launch seminars count as elective credits.
Yes, you will receive undergraduate credits for the successful completion of your Viking Launch FYE course. Viking Launch credits will be added to your Fall schedule after Fall Advising & Registration is completed.
